Welcome to mixKylie...
mixKylie started life as a small section of my personal website and has since grown to be the most comprehensive source of information about Kylie's music on the web. It's been online in some form since 2000, although the current site has its origins in 2003. The latest relaunch occured in August 2010.
The site is based around a large database of Kylie release and track information. The information is linked to each other so that,
for example, when you view information about a particular release, it is easy to link to information about tracks on that release or
other similar releases.
Although mixKylie has been designed to be user friendly, there are a number of features of the site that you can learn more about here. For information about the relaunch changes in August 2010, see about the 2010 changes.
Navigation
There are numerous ways to find the information you're looking for. Navigation around the site is controlled mainly using the navigation panel on the left of each page. However, you can also use extensive search tools to search the discography using the search boxes and menus featuring on many pages or on the search page itself.
In addition, you can use the discography updates page to view the latest additions to the mixKylie database.
mixKylie Registration
Some features of mixKylie are only available to registered users. It is free, quick and easy to register and, once logged in, you can access features which are only available to registered users such as the detailed release and track information pages. In addition, you can post any information you have about particular releases or tracks using the comment forms on the relevant pages. Once logged in, you can also visit the My Settings page to customise your mixKylie experience.
Web Standards - XHTML and CSS
The site is fully compatible with the W3C XHTML 1.0 Transitional specification. This means
that it works as intended in any browser that supports the standard, such as Internet Explorer, Firefox,
Chrome, Safari and Opera.
The site makes extensive use of Cascading Style Sheets to provide its layout and look-and-feel. The typeface of choice is Tahoma. If you want to see the site exactly as it was created, you should make sure you have this font installed.
Other Technologies
The site makes use of the Flash plugin in order to provide music and video clips (previous Windows Media and RealPlayer clips have now been removed). It also makes extensive use of Javascript which you must enable in your browser to be able to access all the features. Behind the scenes, PHP and MySQL power the site and the discography database.
